Introducing Joanna Burrows, your Lib Dem candidate for Oakham South

April 10, 2019 8:47 PM
Joanna Burrows
Joanna has lived in Oakham for over 20 years, and her three children attended schools in the town. Her elderly mother also lives in Oakham. She has always taken a keen interest in local issues, whether fighting inappropriate building such as houses on the allotments by Brooke Road railway crossing, or by supporting bids for additional local health funding.
A trained nurse, she has worked at Rutland Memorial, and then in various charity roles including running a social rehabilitation project across the county for Age UK,. She is currently a fundraiser for TwentyTwenty, a local charity that supports disadvantaged young people based in Leicester.
Joanna says "I am passionate about keeping Rutland a good place to live, work, raise children and grow old in. If elected I would work hard to listen to, and represent the views of the residents of Oakham South, to ensure that the promised transparency and accountability of RCC becomes more of a reality".
