AGM and Supper at the Rutland Sailing Club

November 28, 2017 7:31 PM

On Thursday 23rd November The Rutland and Melton Liberal Democrats held their annual dinner and AGM at the Sailing Club which is in a fantastic location on Rutland Water.

After dinner, Ian Wright, Director of the Food and Drink Federation (and a member of our local party) gave an extremely interesting and informative talk about the negative effect of Brexit on all aspects of the food industry. It was also fascinating to hear Ian discuss working with Nick Clegg in the past as a speechwriter.

At the AGM the officers mostly remained the same with Sam Asplin as chairman. Also everyone was very pleased that Fay Howison agreed to continue as Honorary President.
