Plans to close Rutland's minor injuries unit, based at Rutland Memorial Hospital, have been put on hold following the announcement by The Coalition Government of plans for a more GP led management of the NHS. This news has been warmly welcomed by local Liberal Democrats.

However, it is apparent that the unit is not working to full capacity with many patients choosing to travel to other facilities outside the area.

To ensure the greatest chance of survival we urge Rutland residents to make full use of this important local resource, which is open from 9am to 9pm seven days a week.
