Modern Slavery - discussion in Nottingham

8.59.00am GMT Fri 6th Feb 2009

Nottingham Liberal Democrats will be having a discussion about modern slavery on Feb 14th at 1.30pm. This topic came up at the request of a member who circulated a draft motion from ALDTU, the Lib Dem trade unionist organisation. East Mids MEP Bill Newton Dunn, who spent a lot of time recently campaigning for a European FBI to help combat cross border crime within the EU, will be speaking. He will be joined by Klara Skrivankova, Anti-Slavery International's expert on people trafficking. A buffet lunch will be provided with donations requested to help cover costs. All Lib Dems and friends warmly welcome to come and discuss this crucial issue of public policy.

The venue is Sherwood Methodist Church, Mansfield Road, Nottingham, NG5 2EN - 3 miles north of Nottingham on the A60 and on good bus routes from the city centre.
