Lib Dem Council gains in the East Midlands

7.15.45am BST (GMT +0100) Sat 5th May 2007

Of the six councils gained in the English local elections two were in the East Midlands - Northampton and Hinkley & Bosworth. The swing to Lib Dem from Tory was quite exceptional. Well done to all the campaigners! Oadby and Wigston where Rutland & Melton campaigners have helped in the past also hung on against a strong Tory opposition. Meanwhile the majority of our councillors in the Rutland and Melton constituency were retained.
